Health insurance

There are two types of health insurance in Germany: public and the private. The public insurances charge nearly the same, about 15% of the gross wage. The private insurances charge individually amounts, not depending on the salary. As an employee you can only choose the private insurance if you earn more than EUR 4.300 monthly. If an employee is member of the private health insurance the employer usually pays his part of the health insurance to the employee and the employee pays the total to his insurance.
